It's ok. Rustic charm, friendly staff, bland uninspired food. We keep trying hoping it will improve but, alas, tough unseasoned sirloin (?) FOR $38? Pasta was over, bolognese needed flavor, depth, anything? And that was NOT a Basque cheesecake. Nice spot for a Guinness by the fire. Olivia and Nick are exceptional and their staff is excellent.

Very cozy tavern, great for a lunch bite, and the bar has a great assortment of brews.
This visit was not the very best for the fish and chips, but won't sway our coming again, as we have had other great table/bar-fare before.
Come early and enjoy a brew and a chat with a friend.

Cosy tavern with all the modern conveniences. I was greeted by a charming hostess when I arrived. I elected to sit at the bar. It was early so I chatted with the chef about the evening's specials. The bartender, Sarah, was knowledgeable, charming, and efficient. I had a vodka gimlet that was well made and refreshing. The well vodka is 229 which is a quality Georgia product. The Wine list is extremely well curated and definitely not what I expected from a small town restaurant. I had a side of gouda Mac and cheese which was delicious if a bit salty. If this place was near my home I'd be a regular.

Popped in on a random Thursday night. No wait, plenty of tables open. Very cute spot, loved the vibe and service was good. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to the friendly service and cool atmosphere.
I was here for dinner. I ordered the bread and butter, salmon with farro "risotto", and the Brussel Sprouts.
Bread 2/5 generic sourdough loaf slices.
Salmon 2/5 was dry and over salted.
Farro 2/5 sauce gave velveeta vibes - nothing apple or miso about it. I did like the size and texture of the mushrooms.
Brussels 3.5/5 were good, but a little salty.
Ordered a burger and fries to go. Shoestring fries with the lemon aoli was great.
I don't think I'll be returning, i don't visit the area often but they do have a good looking menu. Maybe I was there on an off night. 3/5.

I had not been back for a while but had heard there was a new chef and decided to give it another try as I heard it was really good. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived, with a nice vibe. A little mixup on our reservation was quickly resolved. The food is where things are still not sorted out. My wife’s lamb sliders were good, but a bit underdone, the steak fries quite good though. My short rib special was a giant let down though as it was served cold (the outside of the rib was warm but the center was cold, not room temperature cold, but refrigerator cold. The rice basically at room temperature. I asked the server if that was how it was supposed to be and she quickly retrieved the dish and took it back.
It returned a few minutes later, slightly warmer but still cold in the center after spending a minute in the salamander (the server said it was a new rib but I could tell it was the same rib as it had the one bite out of it). Once is a mistake, twice is not really acceptable so at that point I just decided to forego a dish, as my wife’s meal was already underway. It would be great if this spot could get its food better, it is a great location and interior and a really nice asset to Madison. I hope this helps.

Excellent dinner as their Fish & Chips may very well be the best I have ever had. From Sydney to San Francisco to New York, the Hart & Crown Tavern is a MUST STOP. The Haddock or Pollack was perfect, thick, moist, and with a splash of Vinegar and Lemon sang while I ate the Fish & Chip dish. My strawberry red leaf salad was delicious too. The restaurant is like a pub in Ireland. The inside feels so inviting and harmonious with the tavern feel. Madison ought to be very proud of this establishment. Go Dawgs!

We arrived about 2:30pm so not during peak hours. We enjoyed the fish & chips and their house salad. Fish was really good. Prefer smaller cut fries. Salad was good.

Dined at the bar on Thanksgiving Eve and had a fantastic experience! The food was great, of course, but the entire experience was elevated by Sara and the manager. They were warm but professional, offered amazing wine recommendations and made us feel very cared for. Highly recommended!

We had such a wonderful experience at The Hart & Crown in Madison, GA! Our server, Addie, was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was delicious from start to finish, and Andrew, the manager, stopped by our table and couldn’t have been more personable and welcoming. We’re so glad we decided to stop in… this just may be our new favorite place in Madison!

What a beautiful spot! The Hart and Crown Tavern has a wonderfully charming and rustic feel right in the heart of Maddison. We loved the decorating and the overall vibe of the place. We were seated right away, as it was very empty when we arrived.
The service started out great but unfortunately got slower and slower as our meal went on, which was a bit of a letdown.
For starters, we ordered the bread and the pork belly, and they were both fantastic. The real star was the BBQ chickpeas that came with the pork belly—what a pleasant surprise! For our mains, we had the wild boar carbonara and the fish and chips. Both were just okay and could have used a bit more flavor. A small note: the "chips" are seasoned potato wedges, not traditional fries. They were good, just not what we were expecting.
Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the atmosphere and appetizers.
